ARC-098-A was originally spotted on ██/██/██04 by an anonymous user of popular gaming forum ███████ after encountering it by chance while playing an upcoming independent MMORPG, █████████ ██████. It soon became a known "easter egg" in niche communities, before █/██/██05, when it vanished entirely. Only ██ days afterwards, the game's developer, █████ ██████, better known by their online alias, "Rien", was found dead in their home, having ████ themselves.
It was discovered afterwards that ARC-098-A had begun appearing within other games, and was thusly flagged an anomaly, and has since been contained within an isolated hard drive containing █████████. To prevent it from transferring into another game, this hard drive is never to access the internet via any other software that may include online-play capabilities.
